A Candid Dialogue with "Braveheart"

 

Sometime around the middle of August, 2008, an acquaintance handed me a copy of supplementary material he had prepared for a student (Lisa H.) who was writing a thesis dealing with the Bonner County Food Bank.  I wrote a response to that supplementary material, and, as so often happens in these situations, I soon found myself involved in a written dialogue with said acquaintance.  I informed him that I intended to reproduce our dialogue on my website.  He agreed so long as I adhered to the following requirements:  I refer to him as "Braveheart."  I include everything he has written.  And, I do not interlace my responses within his commentary.  What follows, then, is our dialogue in which my responses (after my initial reply) are notated by footnotes in his commentary.  Braveheart agreed to supply me with a digital copy of his original commentary for inclusion in this dialogue.  (To facilitate reading my responses, I recommend first bringing up Braveheart's commentary and then bringing up my responses.  Then alternatively minimize and maximize my responses to follow the footnotes as you read through Braveheart's material.)  Note: The bolding and underlining in Braveheart's commentaries were produced by him.
