Circumstance brings together two very different women at a rural Oklahoma bus stop in the wee hours, beginning a dance of hurt, humor, and intense longing for connection that could bridge the gap over two painful pasts. A horrible discovery mid-way through the night proves to be a catalyst for revelation, transformation, and, ultimately, that desperate link. Are these women really opposites? Who will they be when the next bus comes?

SETTING
Present day. Rural Oklahoma service station and bus stop. 1 am.

CHARACTERS
TOBY: Late 20s from rural Tennessee, rough around the edges, smart, provocative, loud-mouthed, hiding the psyche of a loner, damaged goods.

MERCY: Mid 30s from the Midwest, but looks older, conservative, emboldened, warm and childlike, obscuring pain and...something else, sheltered, naive.
