"You'll want to take the journey with Greyhounds, an intriguing well-acted play."

"When two strangers meet at a bus terminal to escape or reenact the reasons behind their fears, what emerges is a series of magically constructed vignettes is a play by Daryl Lisa Fazio called Greyhounds.

The episodic nature of the women’s parallel worlds unfolds in flashback through scenes that speak to the driving force behind the difficult decisions made by Fazio’s female characters. Mercy (played by co-producer Cheri Wicks) runs from then back to her abusive husband; Toby (Heather Massie) is taking the bus to her dream, raising greyhounds on a dog farm. Structural nuances, clever reversals peppered with humor make this charming play a wonderful debut for Fazio."

"[Director Jesse] Jou is apt in his grasp of small town life and masterfully steered two fine actresses into lovely performances.

Heather Massie’s nails the part of Toby, with her gangly movements and childlike inflections, she embraces the characters strengths and weaknesses and acknowledges Toby’s little girl trapped in a woman’s body. It is always a treat to watch an actress so in tune with the physicality of her character in every way.

Cheri Wicks as Mercy seemed to channel Edie Falco and Felicity Huffman in a performance that shows all the many layers of a seemingly simple character. She portrayed Mercy’s vast range of loneliness, determination, strength and weakness all in a single conversation about saltine crackers."
