Maude Maggart, the haunting vocalist is a “wondrous young chanteuse” by Time Out New York, will make her London debut with her Irving Berlin Songbook as part of “The American Songbook in London.” Maude is the scion of an acclaimed show-business family: her grandmother starred in the Ziegfeld Follies, her parents met while performing in the Broadway musical “Applause,” and her sister is American pop singer-songwriter Fiona Apple. Born and raised near 125th Street in New York City, Maude created a stir in Hollywood with her debut show at The Gardenia, when the LA Times said “Maude Maggart’s talent and imagination offer hope for the future of cabaret.” Fostered by Andrea Marcovicci and Michael Feinstein, Maude performed in nightclubs around the U.S., including Feinstein’s at The Regency, the Plush Room in San Francisco and The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. She won the 2005 MAC and Back Stage awards as well as the Time Out New York Award for Special Achievement. Maude’s CD’s include “Look for The Silver Lining,” “With Sweet Despair” and most recently, “Maude Maggart sings Irving Berlin." |
