This architectural history course-sequence is broken up into three semesters, the first (2313) covering the Ancient and Medieval periods, the second (3313) covering the Renaissance through Neo-Classicism, and the third (3323 covering American architecture from the time of the first European settlers to the present as well as European architecture from the 19th century to the present. While all three courses stress the Western tradition, the first one includes lectures on Pre-Columbian America, China, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, and Islam.
