DIVISION: BRC (BioPsychoKinetic Road Cruiser)
HISTORY: This was the second BRC chopper, made for the Halloween ride of 1999. It is three huffy frames welded poorly together. The top and the bottom frames are removable, for easy transport
across long distances. This bike has been referred to as "an obscene work of art".
This bike was put together by random inspiration. Two huffy frames were welded together at the fork, then sawed apart and welded together again. (it wasn't perfectly straight the first time) Another huffy frame was mounted upside down on top of the first two, a 5 foot long monotube fork was added, and a seat was placed on top. The handlebars had to be welded in place so they won't turn with all the torque on them, and the seat being used was actually constructed of a
piece of metal from a banana seat and 2 cut BMX handlebars.
This bike continues to challenge the laws of physics. Surprisingly enough, it is a machine in a derby. Weighing in at 72 pounds, with an overall length of 7 feet, the inertia of this thing is hard to stop. It can turn on a dime due to the fact that the pilot can lean over to an angle where a normal bike would hit the ground, and Chopzilla's inertia keeps it going.
This bike has actually undergone several changes in name. It was originally going to be called "Huffenstein". After Chopzilla went on the Halloween ride of 1999, it was deemed too damn hard to ride, and it was to be retired or revamped. One possible change was to build a model rocket jet, install it on the rear (there's plenty of room) paint the entire bike silver and rename it "Mecha-Chopzilla". Needless to say putting a derailer, 5 gears and a brake that isn't constantly on helped even more than this obscene plan.
