BUILDER: Zeus
DIVISION: BRC (Bio-Psychokinetic Road Cruiser)
HISTORY: This was an experiment in making a homemade recumbant, as close to the ground as possible. Throw in another experiment in steering, and you get this - a virtually unridable, but cool in an ugly way chopper.

Earth was to be the last in the elemental series for Zeus... he wanted a bike that was real close to the ground to be worthy of the name Earth. He also wanted to see how it would be to use bike sprockets to steer with. Throw a bunch of other ideas into one, like having a body made of angle iron, and a side-mounted stick shifter, and you have Earth.

Unfortunately, Earth did make it off the drawing board, but was never considered a successful ship. It was so low to the ground, and the width was so wide, and the frame so heavy, that although it looks really cool, it tips so damn easily that it is virtually impossible to steer unless you're James.

This bike was to be ridden approxamately 8 miles by Zeus. He rode, but after about a half a mile, which unfortunately, was all loose dirt, potholes and uphill, he was dead. So, James volunteered to ride the next seven and a half miles, and unsurprizingly, he had little trouble with it. It just wasn't that fun of a ride. and any bike that can only be ridden by one person, who doesn't particularly like riding it, is an unsuccessful bike.

When the Junkers went from Maine to Georgia, This bike was not on the priority list to be transported down to Georgia. With a width of two feet and a length of nine feet, overall weight of eighty pounds, it was just too cumbersome for a bike that probably wouldn't get ridden. So up in Maine it has stayed, most likely rusting.

We did take some pictures of course, of this bike before we left it.
