HISTORY:
Water is one of the more fun bikes in the fleet.  Real easy to build.  Take an expensive freestyle 20 inch frame, cut the back, and weld 4 3 foot extensions onto the back.  Then of course, add a lot of chain to make up for the extra rear end.  The end result winds up being a bike that has the turning radius of a tandem, decent cargo capacity, and skidding power rivaled only by the gods themselves.

The general idea of skidding is this: the further away from the rear tire you are, the better you skid.  And the quicker the breaks grab, the better the skid.  Well, on most bikes you have to try to lean up near the handlebars, but front divided weight is built right into water.  And the coaster breaks make stopping power immediate.  Of course, the drawback to a skidmonster is that you CAN'T stop quickly, even if you want to.  Or start quickly for that matter.

The other advantage is the monkey seat.  Anyone who rides on the back of water is riding in the monkey seat, and is therefore the monkey.  Granted, being the monkey is kind of cool, and it works great to bring a rider back from the ride after his bike breaks down. prior to these pictures being taken, water was outfitted with a rowing machine seat, which slides back and fourth, and is more comfortable to ride to boot.

This bike did not make it down to Georgia, but was given to SCUL. I'm hoping that it is being loved somewhere, as it is a great bike.
